@PursuitofPortraits began as a personal Instagram account for Founder Saunak Shah, who was simply looking for a way to curate his growing work in portraiture and street style photography. Within months, Pursuit of Portraits had connected with thousands of people in the Instagram community. It became clear that there existed a tremendous, diverse, and widespread collective of fellow portrait-lovers -- and an opportunity to increasingly connect these individuals. Saunak knew that it was time to evolve Pursuit of Portraits into what we are today: a platform and meeting place for portrait-lovers everywhere. We are a team of individuals who share a passion for portraiture and strive towards the same goal of bringing this community together.
Create an accessible community of portrait-lovers through a platform to share the best of portraiture photography.
Through our Instagram account, website, events and upcoming print magazine, Pursuit of Portraits endeavors to uncover, feature, and create community amongst the abundance of talent within the portraiture photography space on and off Instagram, here in New York City and around the world.
At the moment, we're working on the launch of our inaugural print magazine dedicated to the art of making portraits and are open for submissions. For more information, please scroll down to learn more about our various categories. We are also excited to announce that we're working on "Behind the Scenes" studio sessions, portraiture seminars and a Pursuit of Portrait Instameet near you...If you'd like to host an Instameet, feel free to reach out to us for more details.
